Cody Hodgson invited to Canada's National Junior selection camp

Vancouver, B.C. – The Vancouver Canucks, in conjunction with Hockey Canada, are proud to announce that centre Cody Hodgson has been invited to participate in Canada’s National Junior Selection camp from December 12-16, 2009 in Regina, Saskatchewan at the Brandt Centre.

Hodgson led all players in scoring at the 2009 IIHF World U20 Championship in Ottawa, Ontario recording 16 points (5-11-16) and two penalty minutes in six games played.

Players and staff will travel to Regina on Saturday, December 12th. There will be two red-white intrasquad games and one game against a team comprised of CIS players from the University of Saskatchewan and University of Regina. Once the team is named at the conclusion of the selection camp in Regina, Canada’s National Junior Team will play in three pre-competition games prior to the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Canada has medaled at eleven straight IIHF World Junior Championships, including gold medal performances in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, silver medals in 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2004 and bronze medals in 2000 and 2001.
