Canucks Recall Forwards Jannick Hansen and Nathan Smith
by Staff Writer / Vancouver Canucks Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that the Canucks have recalled forwards Jannik Hansen and Nathan Smith from the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.
Hansen, 21, has played 72 games with the Moose this season, recording 34 points (12-22-34) and 38 penalty minutes. The 6'1", 201 lbs. left wing was Vancouver's 7th choice, 287th overall, in the 2004 Entry Draft. The native of Herlev, Denmark, played three seasons in his home country prior to playing for Portland in the Western Hockey League last season. This season marks his first with the Moose. Smith, 25, has also appeared in 72 games with the Moose this season, recording 40 points (19-21-40) and 76 penalty minutes. He has played in one game for the Canucks this season. In the 2005-06 season, Smith played in 20 games for the Manitoba Moose, netting nine points (5-4-9) and 57 penalty minutes. The Strathcona, Alberta native has appeared in a total of four career NHL games, all with the Canucks. The 6'2", 206 lbs. centre was Vancouver's first choice, 23rd overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. JANNIK HANSEN
