Canucks Future Watch: 3.30.15

Cole Cassels and Jared McCann are off to hot starts in the OHL Playoffs, while Hunter Shinkaruk and the Utica Comets are rolling along in the AHL.


Darren Archibald was a factor in both games this past week. On Friday, he racked up 11 minutes in penalties, which included his team-leading eighth fighting major of the season. On Saturday, he netted his first multi-goal game since November 26.

Sven Baertschi quieted down this past week, notching just one assist in two games, while also firing six shots on goal. The newly acquired winger is still trending at a point-per-game pace since joining the Comets.

Joacim Eriksson stopped 22-of-24 on Friday night as his stellar month of March continues. Eriksson has gone 5-1-1 the past seven games, allowing two goals or less in all seven games.

Hunter Shinkaruk has been on a tear as of late, scoring in four straight games and netting five goals in his past seven games overall, all wins for the Comets. Shinkaruk is also plus-6 in that span.
