The Vancouver Canucks will hold their 20th annual Canucks for Kids Fund Telethon presented by Chevrolet, on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at General Motors Place with all proceeds benefiting the Vancouver Canucks luminary charity, Canuck Place Children's Hospice.
In 2009 the CFKF Telethon raised over $875,000 through generous fan donations from around the province and organized events throughout the year. Over $400,000 was raised through online, phone and mail donations during the March 15th, 2009 event. Over $475,000 was raised through Canucks for Kids Fund partnered events throughout the 2008-2009 season.
The Telethon will air on the TEAM 1040 Sports Radio from Noon till Midnight, and on Rogers Sportsnet Pacific during the game vs. the Calgary Flames from 6:45 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Telethon television broadcast was hosted by Rogers Sportsnet personalities Don Taylor, Craig MacEwen and Canucks TV reporter Kristin Reid which featured vignettes of Canuck Place families, Canucks players and special cheque presentations to the CFKF.
Canucks wives, significant others and volunteers took donations by phone, Canuck Place volunteers accepted donations at the game in the latter half of the first period and donations were also accepted online at Canucks.com
All CFKF Telethon donors who donate $100 will received an exclusive “Luongo & Kesler” photograph. For donations of $150 or more, donors will receive both a “Luongo & Kesler” and a commemorative “Class of 2010” photo. All donors who give by midnight on March 14th are entered to win a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro.
