The Vancouver Canucks held their annual Dice & Ice fundraiser last night at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Vancouver. The event managed to raise a wonderful $200, 000 which will go directly to Canuck Place as well as BC Children's Hospital.
It was a fun-filled evening which the entire Canuck team attended, including the player's wives, Canuck coaches, as well as General Manager, Dave Nonis and Assistant General Manager, Steve Tambellini. The event was set up in a "Ocean's 11" casino theme, complete with blackjack tables, and roulette wheels. Guests were invited to play with Canuck "funny money" and they seemed to highly enjoy interacting with the players who provided as the dealers.
Player signed jerseys from around the league, jewelry, art and overseas getaways were just some of the amazing items that were auctioned off in last night's festivities. The highlight of the evening was when Markus Naslund surprised the crowd with a blown up photo of a shirt-less Jarkko Ruutu, after he won his Olympic Silver Medal. Henrik and Daniel Sedin were also congratulated for their gold medals which they brought along to show off.
