Winners of six of their last eight games, the Bruins’ recent hot streak has them back in the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference with an upcoming date against the Habs Wednesday night in Montreal.

Player to watch: Tuukka Rask: The Finnish netminder has a record of 4-0-2 in his last six starts, including a 4-0 shutout victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.

Heading into this week on a three-game win streak, the Red Wings will face the red hot Washington Capitals on Tuesday before heading back home Thursday night to face the Habs.

Player to watch: Tomas Tatar: With nine points in his last eight games the 25-year-old has pulled even with Henrik Zetterberg to lead the Red Wings with 21 points in 27 games.

Saturday Dec. 12

The Canadiens face off against the 14-8-5 Senators for the third time this season, with each club winning a game apiece on the road in the first two matchups between the two Atlantic Division rivals.

Player to watch: Erik Karlsson: The Senator’s current leading scorer, who has six points in his last three games, leads all NHL defenseman with 32 points in just 27 games this season.
