Vote for the play of the week - April 5

by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens

Every week throughout the 2009-10 season, you will get the chance to vote for the Canadiens play of the week. Each week’s winning play will automatically earn an entry into the year-end elimination tournament which will decide the play of the year.

Here are the nominees for the week ending April 5 :

Jaro’s extra tentacles
(April 2 @ Philadelphia)
Despite finding himself sprawled inside his net, Jaroslav Halak manages to spring into action, sliding across the crease to stymie a Matt Carle wraparound attempt.

Look both ways
(April 2 @ Philadelphia)
While his parents likely warned him against the dangers of playing in traffic as a tot, Andrei Kostitsyn throws caution to the wind, grinding it out behind the Flyers’ net and sliding a perfect pass to Tomas Plekanec for the game-winner in Philly.

Not tonight, Drew
(April 3 vs. Buffalo)

Jaroslav Halak is a man on a mission en route to registering his second shutout in as many nights, with the Slovak netminder blanking every shooter on the Sabres’ squad – including Drew Stafford, who peppers Jaro with not one but two rebounds in close.
