Vote for the play of the week - April 12

by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens

Every week throughout the 2009-10 season, you will get the chance to vote for the Canadiens play of the week. Each week’s winning play will automatically earn an entry into the year-end elimination tournament which will decide the play of the year.

Here are the nominees for the week ending April 12 :

In and out burger
(April 6 vs. NYI)
Flanked by Michael Cammalleri and Tomas Plekanec, Andrei Kostitsyn flies out of the Habs’ zone and stops just inside the Islanders’ blue line, sending a perfect feed to Pleky, whose quick release eludes Martin Biron on its way into – and out of – the net.

The Glove Doctor
(April 6 vs. NYI)
While 2009 first overall pick John Tavares is already mentally celebrating as he charges in on the Canadiens’ net, Jaroslav Halak has other ideas, throwing out his glove to rob Tavares on the deke.

Loading the canon
(April 8 vs. Carolina)

When you can launch a puck 104 mph, you don’t need to be in the slot to score goals. Streaking in on a 2-on-1 with Marc-Andre Bergeron, Scott Gomez sends a pass across to the sharp-shooting blue-liner, who rifles a blistering one-timer past an unsuspecting Cam Ward.
