The Numbers Game - March 24, 2011

by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens
BOSTON -- Here's a numerical look at the Habs-Bruins matchup at the TD Garden on Thursday night, in Boston.

50 – Before Thursday night’s match, percentage of home-games won by the Bruins at TD Garden in 2010-11 – good enough for only 21st place overall in the NHL.
9 – Number of times over the course of this season the Bruins and the Canadiens have dropped the gloves, with only their only game without a fight coming on Nov. 11.

200 – Number of career NHL games played by Canadiens’ goaltender Carey Price as of Thursday night’s matchup against the Bruins, with 65 of them coming this season alone.

19 – Number of penalty minutes racked up by the Canadiens in the first two periods of Thursday night’s game alone, continuing the trend of the Montreal spending more time in the box than any other team in the League.

25– Number of checks landed by Canadiens players over the course of their tilt against the Bruins – 15 more than the 11 thrown by Boston.

15 – Number of times since joining the NHL in 1917-18 that the Canadiens have been held scoreless in two consecutive games.

4 – Number of times that Paul Mara has dropped the gloves since rejoining the Canadiens last month – his most recent bout coming Thursday against the Bruins Gregory Campbell.
