Sergei Kostitsyn has 27 points in 11 playoff games with the Lond0n Knights
TORONTO - The Canadian Hockey League announced Tuesday that London Knights forward Sergei Kostitsyn is the CHL Player of the Week. Kostitsyn, the younger brother of Andrei Kostitsyn, the Canadiens' first round pick in the 2003 draft, was Montreal's seventh round selection, 200th overall, in the 20005 NHL Entry Draft.
Kostitsyn was the OHL Player of the Week after scoring four goals and 11 points in four games last week as the Knights defeated the Owen Sound Attack in their second round playoff series. He started the week with a goal in Game 3 when the Knights fell to the Attack by a score of 4-3. The Knights forward picked up his play in Game 4 with a pair of goals in a 5-1 win. He added four assists in a 6-5 win in Game 5 and scored a goal and three assists to help the Knights close out the series in six games with a 5-2 win in Game 6. The Knights will now take on the Guelph Storm in the Western Conference finals. Kostitsyn has registered a point in each of the Knights 10 playoff games and sits second in playoff scoring behind teammate Rob Schremp with 25 points.
