Rookie Camp - Day 4

by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens

Day 4 of Canadiens Rookie Camp picked up where it left off yesterday, with the Habs’ hopefuls in Brossard grinding out a physical 1-1 tie in the second of three intra-squad scrimmages scheduled for this week at the Bell Sports Complex.

After falling 3-2 on Sunday, Christian Thomas’ opening goal midway through the first half looked to be the winner for Team Red until Matt Schmalz buried a game-tying rebound with just over two minutes left in regulation.

Team White was busy between the pipes, with goaltenders Mike Condon and Jordan Papirny turning aside 9 of 10 and 12 of 12 shots respectively.

Zachary Fucale meanwhile made six saves on as many shots for Team Red, while teammate Hayden Hawkey allowed one goal on five shots.

Rookie Camp’s third and final scrimmage is scheduled for Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. EST in Brossard.
