- Therrien confirmed that Carey Price would get the start in goal against the Capitals on Saturday afternoon. It will be his 39th start of the season. The Canadiens' bench boss did not confirm which goaltender would get the call on Sunday.
- The Canadiens confirmed that defenseman Magnus Nygren will return to Sweden to continue recovering from a concussion he suffered back on November 29. Nygren, who is currently a member of the Hamilton Bulldogs, has missed the last 23 games due to injury.
