Second and final preseason game

The Bulldogs and the Marlies squared off for a second preseason tilt, this time in the town of Brantford at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Center.

Despite peppering the Toronto net with 29 shots – 17 of them coming in the first period – the Bulldogs were unable to sneak one past the Marlies’ goaltending duo of Ben Scrivens and Jussi Rynnas. For their part, the Marlies opened up the scoring with a second period breakaway goal from Ryan Hamilton, before extending their lead to two early in the final frame.

The Bulldogs’ management ended their club’s preseason schedule by announcing a handful of the latest roster cuts. Philippe Lefebvre was assigned to the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers, while Bobby Farnham was released by the team. A total of 28 players remain part of the Bulldogs training camp. The final version of Sylvain Lefebvre’s regular season squad is poised to make its debut on Saturday, Oct. 13, in Grand Rapids against the Griffins.
