-The Canadiens held an optional practice on Friday morning in Brossard.

-Players present on the ice included Travis Moen, Gabriel Dumont, P.K. Subban, Alex Galchenyuk, Tomas Kaberle, Brendan Gallagher, Yannick Weber, Jarred Tinordi and Peter Budaj.

-The Canadiens announced the call-up of Mike Blunden from the Hamilton Bulldogs. Blunden is expected to be at the team’s morning skate on Saturday and should play that night versus the Sabres.

-Ryan White is expected to be absent from the Canadiens Saturday night game against the Sabres, sidelined with a lower body injury.

-Carey Price will be in nets to face the Sabres at the Bell Centre on Saturday.

-Canadiens prospect Danny Kristo received a good piece of news on Thursday. The right-winger who currently plays for the University of North Dakota in the NCAA has been nominated for the Hobey Baker, awarded to the top player in the NCAA. In 36 games this season, Kristo has racked up a total of 50 points, ranking him third in points among all players in the NCAA. Kristo also led the WCHA with 24 goals. The winner of the award will be announced on April 12, 2013 during the presentation of the Frozen Four.
