Kovalev named Molson Cup player of the month for February

MONTREAL– Right-winger Alex Kovalev is the Molson Cup Player of the Month for February. Kovalev earns his fourth consecutive Molson Cup honour and the fourth of five segments this season.

Kovalev amassed 22 points in Molson Cup standings in February, by virtue of two first star selections and four second star selections. He finished ahead of teammate Carey Price, who collected 13 points. The Russian forward currently ranks first in the Molson Cup overall standings with 68 points, 29 ahead of linemate Tomas Plekanec (39 points).

Kovalev scored 21 points (7 goals, 14 assists) in 14 games in February while firing a team-high 47 shots on goal.

Kovalev will be presented with the Molson Cup during a pre-game ceremony prior to Saturday’s game against the New Jersey Devils at the Bell Centre.
