The Canadiens and Blue Jackets meet for the second time in two nights, this time at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
Monday night’s contest in Columbus saw the game tied at 2-2 entering the third period. In the final frame the Blue Jackets would score three unanswered goals to seal the 5-2 victory. Brendan Gallagher and P.K. Subban each collected two points (1G,1A) in the loss, while Andrei Markov and Jeff Petry contributed assists.
In the Blue Jackets camp, Cam Atkinson led the way in the offensive department scoring his third career hat trick on Monday night. 21-year-old rookie goaltender Joonas Korpisalo made 32 saves to preserve the victory for Columbus, in just his 11th career start in the NHL.
As Mike Condon earned the start on Monday night, the Canadiens will turn to netminder Ben Scrivens, who is in search of his first career victory in a Habs uniform. The Spruce Grove, Alberta native holds a 1-0-2 record through three career starts against the Blue Jackets.
In addition, Jacob de la Rose will replace forward Daniel Carr, who was forced to leave Monday night's contest after suffering an injury in the first period in Columbus.
Tuesday night’s contest marks the third and final time the two Eastern Conference adversaries meet this season. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.
