HAMILTON - The Hamilton Bulldogs announced Wednesday that the team has signed forward Kyle Chipchura to an Amateur Try-Out Contract.

Chipchura, 20, was captain of the Prince Albert Raiders (WHL) in 2004-05 and 2005-06, leading the team in scoring with 55 points (21 goals, 34 assists) in 59 games this season.  His 21 goals tied him for the team lead and he was named the team's Most Valuable Player.  Chipchura was captain of the 2006 gold-medal winning Canadian World Junior team.

In 216 games with the Raiders, the 6-foot-2, 208-pound center posted 165 points (59 goals, 106 assists) and 320 penalty minutes.  He was the Canadiens' first round pick, 18th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
