|Bish, with apologies to Matt Groening.
Everyone, who participated in the Pan-Mass Challenge was ecstatic about the event and seemed ready to volunteer for next season, as well.
As a result, everyone, but particularly Director of Hockey Operations and Player Development, Don Sweeney, seemed ready to volunteer ME, too!
However, instead of picturing me riding next to them, majestically, and athletically pedaling away at a bicycle, most everyone who has talked about my participation next summer has made allusions to my riding a Vespa along the way.
In other words, the BishBike would be motorized! Oh the humanity!
One "friend" even went so far as to describe the sight in not-so-flattering terms -- something about me falling off the motorized scooter.A-hem!

In all seriousness though, each and every member of the Bruins PMC Bike Team has recounted how much the experience meant to them and many of the riders have provided first hand accounts, observations and pictures that will be housed in my web log from that day and reposted on the front page of BostonBruins.com in the very near future. WEEI: Jimmy Fund Auction
The just in to the news desk.
Our friends over at WEEI are kicking off their annual fund-raising event by auctioning off the following package (donated on behalf of Jeremy Jacobs and Family, Phil Kessel and the Boston Bruins):
A private two-hour clinic, for your youth hockey team, on the TD Banknorth Garden Ice with Bruins center Phil Kessel!
After the clinic, the children will get a pizza party at the TD Banknorth Garden with Phil, and they will get a tour of the Bruins locker room.
This package started off at a bid of $500 this morning, and is now over $2500!
The Boston Bruins have also donated a number of other items, which will be auctioned off during the week and during the actual radio/telethon on the 16th and 17th.
If you are so able, please bid, and in turn, give generously to this very worthwhile cause -- defeating cancer. True Fans Wear the B
And on a lighter note: How can you spot a B's fan -- when they have the spoked-B displayed prominently on their person, of course!
And no, this is not turning into a pitch for the Bruins new jerseys. Although, come to think of it, they are beautiful and you can order one here
. But I digress, often...
No, this a testament to the loyalty of one of the most junior members of Bruins Nation.
One young fan took loyalty to the extreme and made the top of his head into an homage to his favorite hockey team.
Andrew Wendt, 12, took his hair to stylist Sharon Latour at Z Best Cuts in Southbridge, and came out looking, well, like a Bruins fan! Andrew, who plays hockey in the Baystate Travel League, is obviously a HUGE Boston Bruins fan and added the logo to his buzz cut.
I'll let the pictures speak for themselves…And Kudos also to mom, Michelle, who gave her blessing to this endeavor.
