On tonight’s game: We have to bring intensity, but it can’t be a short-term thing. It has to be for the whole game. The Capitals are one of the hardest-working teams in hockey, and they’re getting their goalie back. They also have one of the most dangerous players in the game, so we have to pay attention to that, and to the difficulties we’ve had at home here.
On Alexander Ovechkin: With a player of that ability, you just try to limit their chances offensively. That’s all you can really do because he’s so creative and dynamic. As a team, we just have to know where the top players are at all times.
On the Bruins’ weekend power play: We definitely saw more puck movement. We hit all of our spots and retrieved more pucks.
On the call-up of Ben Walter: He’s excited and I told him to have fun and play his position. For a young guy getting the opportunity, he’s thrilled. You can see it in his eyes and I hope he has some fun with it.
He’s been contributing in Providence offensively, and he has worked on his defense. It’s paid off for him.
Left Wing, Jeff Hoggan On Ben Walter: I played with him and he’s very creative and skilled. He’s smart defensively and he has a great plus-minus and I’m looking forward to playing with him tonight.
On tonight’s game: We have to work hard and do the simple things right. That’s it. We know what we can do, so we just have to bring it and match what the Capitals bring tonight. It should be interesting.
Right Wing, Brandon Bochenski On Alexander Ovechkin: They way he dominates when he’s one-on-one or two-on-two and gets in the zone to score goals in those situations is very unique. Not all NHL players can do that. He’s produced at a young age and is proving that he’s consistent.
He’s not afraid to play the body. As far as containment, he won’t disappear, so you can’ t just hit him. He’s plays tough throughout the whole game.
Defenseman, Aaron Ward On the Washington Capitals: They’re a group of guys who work hard, even if they’re not successful on the scoreboard, and they can catch you off-guard. They’re professional and they play for pride.
We have to bring every facet of our game tonight because they don’t quit. For us, we just have to match their effort. We just have to get in the corners and work hard.
On the Bruins’ stretch run: We get an opportunity to battle teams, it’s one of those situations where you gain a game and catapult up a few spaces. It’s big for us, but we can’t look ahead.
