This event helped raise money for the 2010 Boston Bruins Foundation Pan-Massachusetts Challenge Bike Team.
While onboard, Bruins fans were able to enjoy dancing and music from Jim Plunkett, a New England performer which is a big reason why people attend this event.
"Well I want to say the Bruins, I want to say the boat cruise, I want to say Jim Plunkett," said Bruins Foundation Director Bob Sweeney when asked why so many fans return to the cruise year-after-year. "I think it's having the whole combination."
The cruise also gave fans with the opportunity to interact with the Sweeney, a former Boston Bruins forward, and former New England Patriot Max Lane.
Having alumni from other Boston pro-sports shows the deep rooted bond between all the different leagues.
"I actually came to the first one of these a couple years ago and I have kind of gotten to know a couple players in the area," said Lane. "I like hanging out with them and I like seeing some of the good stuff they are doing for the foundation.
"And I know they are riding 200 miles for cancer for the PAN Mass."
While all of the proceeds from the cruise will benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation Bike team riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge this August, many people attended just simply because it was fun.
"Plus it's a pretty good time aboard this boat," said Lane.
