Jacobs Family to Purchase and Donate 200 Tickets to the 2010 Winter Classic

BOSTON, MA - Boston Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs, Bruins Principal Charlie Jacobs and the Jacobs family announced today that they will purchase and donate 200 tickets to the 2010 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic for 10 youth hockey teams throughout New England. Each team chosen represents a different state in New England and highlights the Bruins' focus on expanding the sport of hockey to include all children.  Boston Bruins players, personnel and alumni will personally deliver the tickets donated by the Jacobs family to each of the teams.


On Wednesday, December 9, Bruins Principal Charlie Jacobs will present the local youth hockey team Score Boston with 20 tickets to the upcoming 2010 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on behalf of the Jacobs family. He will be joined by Bruins great, Terry O'Reilly, who will lead the Score Boston team in an on-ice youth hockey clinic, sign autographs and take photos with kids and their families.

At each location throughout New England the teams chosen will participate in an on-ice clinic led by Bruins alumni and the Bruins Youth Hockey Development team and will receive a free raffle ticket for Bruins autographed items and Winter Classic merchandise.

In addition, each of the 10 teams will personalize and decorate a piece of a banner that will be put together to form a single large banner which will be presented to the 2009-10 Boston Bruins and displayed the day of the game at Fenway Park on January 1.

The Boston Bruins kicked off their New England Winter Classic ticket delivery tour Thursday, December 3 at the Conway Arena (8 Riverside Street, Nashua, NH 03062) where Bruins great, Terry O' Reilly. The tour will end on Saturday, December 12 at the New England Sports Center (121 Donald Lynch Blvd, Marlborough, MA 01752).
