BOSTON, MA – On Tuesday, March 27 the Boston Bruins Foundation and the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles will kick-off the raffle for the first plate of the ‘Invest in Youth Hockey’ Bruins license plate series featuring the Bruins current logo (the former plate included the retro Bruins logo.)
Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Amy Latimer, Executive Director of the Boston Bruins Foundation, Bob Sweeney, Executive Director of Mass Hockey, Kevin Kavanagh and Registrar of Motor Vehicles, Rachel Kaprielian, will be on hand at 10:30 a.m. in the Will McDonough Press Room at the TD Garden (100 Legends Way, Boston, MA 02114) for a press conference to discuss the program and show their support for the unique raffle.
“This effort by the Bruins Foundation will re-energize the public’s interest in the Bruins specialty license plate series,” said Massachusetts Registrar of Motor Vehicles Rachel Kaprielian. “Our hope is that it will also increase overall awareness of the RMV’s specialty plate program and the number of charities Massachusetts residents may choose to support.”
The license plate raffle will run from March 27 until the May 4 at 5:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at www.bruinsraffles.org starting at 10:00 AM on Tuesday March 27.
"The Bruins Foundation is proud to support Mass Hockey and their many initiatives through the revenues generated from the license plate program,” said Bob Sweeney, Executive Director of the Boston Bruins Foundation. “We want everyone to feel a part of this program and have the opportunity to win Bruins license plate No. 1 through this unique raffle.”
The license plate featuring the Bruins Spoked-B logo has raised almost $1 million for Mass Hockey initiatives. The plates cost $40, of which $28 of the purchase price will go directly to Massachusetts Hockey, Inc., a non-profit affiliate of USA Hockey. The remaining $12 is a one-time only cost to cover manufacturing expenses. Upon renewal of the plates, the entire $40 will go to Mass Hockey (this is in addition to the standard $36 registration fee due at renewal). Bruins fans can purchase a Boston Bruins "Invest in Youth Hockey" license plate at all full-service Registry branches or online by www.bostonbruins.com.
The 2011-12 Boston Bruins season is presented by the Massachusetts State Lottery.
