BOSTON, MA – The NHL announced today, November 2, that David Krejci has been named the third star of the month for October. Jamie Benn (Dallas) and Carey Price (Montreal) were named first and second stars of the month, respectively.
Krejci registered 15 points during the month of October notching seven goals and eight assists. The centerman’s 15 points are good for third in the NHL while his seven goals are tied for third in the league.
Krejci carried a nine game point streak throughout the month of October (7-8=15 totals) which was snapped on the Bruins final game of the month against the Tampa Bay Lightning on October 31. That is the longest point streak by a Bruin to open a season since both Joe Juneau (7-15=22 totals) and Dmitri Kvartalnov (12-10=22 totals) had points in their first 14 games of the 1992-93 campaign.
During his point streak, the 29-year-old had four multiple-point games (out of 10 games played), including two three-point performances on October 17 at Arizona (1-2=3 totals) and October 12 vs. Tampa Bay (1-2=3 totals). Krejci also had a two-goal performance on October 27 against the Coyotes, one of which was the game-winner.
