BOSTON, MA - As part of the sixth annual Development Camp, Boston Bruins prospects will be taking part in a variety of community activities on Saturday, June 30 between 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. The appearances are open to the media and all those interested in attending should reach out to Kelly Mohr (firstname.lastname@example.org or 857-241-8352) prior to the events.
The first group of Bruins prospects will provide youth hockey players with on-ice instruction followed by a 60-minute FUNdamentals cross-ice scrimmage. The skate will take place at Cronin Arena (850 Revere Beach Parkway, Revere, MA 02151), courtesy of FMC Ice. The participating Bruins prospects include: Justin Courtnall, Seth Griffith, Alex Khokhlachev, Torey Krug, Parker Milner, Robbie O'Gara, Cody Payne, Niklas Svedberg and Wayne Simpson. The Bruins FUNdamentals program was initiated by FMC Ice Sports and the Boston Bruins as a way to introduce beginner hockey players to the sport and help them prepare for entry into youth and organized hockey programs. The program’s goal is to teach the fundamentals of ice hockey through various drills, personalized instruction, and game simulation, while ensuring that each and every skater is having as much fun as possible.
The second group of Bruins prospects will head to New England Rehabilitation Hospital (2 Rehabilitation Way, Woburn, MA 01801). The players will participate in various activities with the patients including Bruins Bingo, Wii games and relay races. The players will also sign autographs for the patients in attendance. The participating prospects include: Darik Angeli, Anthony Camara, Daniel Carr, Tommy Cross, Justin Florek, Dougie Hamilton, Jared Knight, Lars Volden, Ryan Spooner and Zach Trotman.
To kick-off the Boston Bruins Summer Reading Program “When You Read, You Score” the final group of Bruins prospects will be at the Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876). The prospects will be joined by local children, and will do an arts and crafts project, an outdoor physical activity, and sign autographs. The participating Bruins prospects include: Matt Benning, Colin Campbell, Chris Casto, Brian Ferlin, Zane Gothberg, Matthew Grzelcyk, Colton Hargrove, Adam Morrison, Ben Sexton and Malcolm Subban.
