B's Announce Development Camp Roster

BOSTON, MA - The Boston Bruins announced today, July 3, the expected roster for their seventh annual Development Camp, which will take place at Ristuccia Arena (190 Main St, Wilmington, MA 01887). Development Camp will open on Wednesday, July 10, with the final session taking place on Monday, July 15. On-ice practices are open to the public and to the media. Please note that the schedule and roster are subject to change - the day's schedule can be confirmed on the team's media website throughout camp ( The development camp attendees are scheduled to take part in community visits and the schedule for these events can be found below.

The Bruins Communications Staff will have a Development Camp prospect guide available at the practices, which will have biographical information and stats on the players attending the camp. Bruins management, coaches and other hockey operations staff in attendance are expected to be available to the media each day. Media should have valid press identification with them and visible at all times.

The Development Camp roster features 24 players, including 12 forwards, eight defensemen and three goaltenders. The roster includes 18 players within the Bruins organization, counting Boston's six selections at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Five additional players will attend Bruins Development Camp on an invite basis. For more information on the invites, please see the notes below the roster.

Casey Bailey is a 6'3", 195-pound forward from Anchorage, AK, who skated last season for Pennsylvania State University, tallying 14-13=27 totals in 27 games for the Nittany Lions. The 21-year-old ranked second on the team in goals and assists. Prior to joining PSU, the forward appeared in 60 games for the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League, where he notched 27 goals (led the team) and 33 assists (second on the team) for 60 points (second on the team) with 83 penalty minutes (led the team). In four playoff games with the Lancers, Bailey scored two goals and two assists.

Oviedo, FL native Ryan Carpenter is a 6'1", 180-pound forward who skated past two seasons at Bowling Green State University, recording 29 goals and 34 assists with 51 penalty minutes in 85 games. In the 2012-13 season with Bowling Green, Carpenter led the team in goals (18), points (33) and ranked second in assists (15). The 22-year-old also spent two seasons playing for the Sioux City Musketeers (2009-2011) in the United States Hockey League where he appeared in 117 games, earning 67 points (23-44).

Alex Cord is a 6'3", 215-pound defenseman and native of Toronto, ON who played last season for the Mississauga Steelheads (Ontario Hockey League), tallying four goals and eight assists with 74 penalty minutes in 68 games. From 2008-12, the blueliner skated in 128 games with the Mississagua St. Michael's Majors of the Ontario Hockey League, where he accrued three goals and 17 assists with 156 penalty minutes.

Derek Docken is a 6'0'', 193-pound defenseman from Northfield, MN who just finished up his sophomore season at the University of Alaska-Anchorage. The blueliner posted 4-13=17 totals with 18 penalty minutes in 67 games in two seasons for the Seawolves. Docken also spent a season with the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the United States Hockey League in 2010-11, where he posted one goal and 10 assists with 41 penalty minutes and a plus-23 rating. The D-man also skated in 11 postseason games with the Saints, earning one assist.

Garnet Hathaway, is a 6'2", 210 pound forward from Kennebunkport, ME. The 21-year-old just finished up his third season for Brown University. In his career at Brown, Hathaway has skated in 90 NCAA games and tallied 43 points (14-29).

Bruins Development Camp Community Events

WHAT: The first group of Bruins prospects will lead an on-ice clinic with players from the New England Future Stars Squirt and PeeWee teams. The skate will take place at Burlington Ice Palace, courtesy of FMC Ice Sports. The prospects will assist with on-ice drills and provide autographs for all participants. New England Future Stars combines game play with weekly skill sessions to enhance a players' skill, skating and intellect by creating an environment that fosters each player's development.

WHAT: To kick-off the Boston Bruins Summer Reading Program "When You Read, You Score" a group of Bruins prospects will be at the Nevins Memorial Library. The prospects will be joined by local children and will do an arts and crafts project, an outdoor physical activity and sign autographs.

WHAT: The final group of Bruins prospects will participate in a Summer Field Day with campers from the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Billerica. The prospects and campers will form teams and compete in a variety of Summer Field Day activities including Hula Hoop Marathon, Egg Toss, Beach Ball Race, Ring Toss and Potato Sack Race. After the field day the prospects will sign autographs for the campers in attendance.
