THIS WEEK’S NEWS, NOTES AND NUMBERS…


POWER PLAY POWERS ON: The Bruins power play continues to lead the NHL. They are 22 for 70 (31.4%), with the next highest percentage being 26.8%.

BERGERON MOVES UP: Patrice Bergeron recorded an assist in last week’s game against the New York Rangers, moving past Adam Oates into sole possession of ninth place on the team’s all-time assist list with 358.

NAILBITERS: In each of the Bruins’ last three games, they have either scored the tying goal to send the game into overtime or netted the game-winning goal with less than four minutes remaining in regulation. Colin Miller scored at 18:16 on November 25 in Detroit before Frank Vatrano gave Boston a 3-2 OT win; Ryan Spooner (16:14) and David Krejci (18:17) scored 2:03 apart to give Boston a 4-3 win vs. the NY Rangers on November 27; and Zdeno Chara netted the equalizer at 16:39 in an eventual 3-2 shootout loss in Edmonton on December 2.

TOYS FOR TOTS COLLECTION DRIVE: The Boston Bruins will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for the US Marine Corps “Toys for Tots” program during Bruins home games leading up to Christmas from December 7 to December 22.  Each of the collections will be held at TD Garden entrance turnstiles and at Community Corner located in Loge 4.  For every $10 donation or toy donation, fans will receive a raffle ticket to be entered into a drawing for Bruins autographed memorabilia including a team-autographed stick, player-autographed photo, and player-autographed puck. PASS CLINIC TO TAKE PLACE IN BEVERLY: TD Bank and the Boston Bruins have teamed up for the tenth straight year to support New England youth hockey through the PASS (Partnership to Assist Skaters and Shooters) clinic series. The next clinic will take place on Wednesday, December 9 in Beverly, MA. PASS features a free on-ice clinic conducted by Bruins alumni and members of the Boston Bruins Youth Hockey Development Team. The clinic includes instruction on hockey fundamentals such as skating, passing and shooting, as well as a $1,000 donation from TD Bank to each hosting youth hockey organization. In addition, each individual participant will receive two tickets to an upcoming Bruins game as well as a TD Bank P.A.S.S. jersey and gift bag. BOSTON BRUINS 8TH ANNUAL HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT PRESENTED BY AT&T: The Boston Bruins will host their 8th annual Holiday Tournament presented by AT&T from December 27-30 at the Haverhill Valley Forum in Haverhill, MA. The round robin format tournament will feature six divisions with a maximum of six teams per division. Each team will participate in a minimum of three games over a four day period. New this year, AT&T and the Boston Bruins will be awarding all division finalists with a Boston Bruins prize pack which will include complimentary tickets to the 2016 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® and more. All participants will receive a Boston Bruins gift bag and tournament t-shirt. Special guest appearances will be made during the tournament including Bruins Mascot Blades and Bruins alumni. 2016 PUCKS AND PUPS CALENDAR PRESENTED BY THE BLACK DOG: On Friday, November 27, the Boston Bruins Foundation launched their 2016 Pucks and Pups Calendar presented by The Black Dog featuring Bruins players photographed with their pets or with adoptable dogs from the MSPCA-Angell. Due to the generosity of our presenting sponsor, The Black Dog, all proceeds from the calendar will benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation and donations will be made to the MSPCA and NEADS. ECHOSTOR GOALS FOR CHARITY: For every goal the Bruins score during the 2015-16 season, EchoStor will donate $100 to the Boston Bruins Foundation. To date EchoStor has raised $7,400 for the Bruins Foundation.

BRUINS ON THE AIRWAVES: Bruins defenseman Torey Krug has been confirmed as a weekly call-in guest with 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Scott Zolak and Marc Bertrand (Zo and Bertrand), which airs weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Adam McQuaid will be a regular guest on 100.7 WZLX with Kevin Karlson and Pete McKenzie (Karlson & McKenzie), which airs weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.  Call-in days and times are dependent upon the B’s schedule. Kevan Miller will be calling in to 98.5 The Sports Hub with Fred Toucher and Rich Shertenlieb (Toucher and Rich). The show airs weekdays 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

UPCOMING GAMES BROADCAST SCHEDULE: NESN reporters Jack Edwards, Andy Brickley and Sarah Davis will be covering the Bruins upcoming matchups against the Vancouver Canucks on December 5 and December 7 against the Nashville Predators. All three games will be broadcasted on SN. The Vancouver Canucks game will also be broadcasted on CBC. The Nashville game on December 7 will be broadcasted on NHLN (US) and TVAS as well as NESN and SN. The Montreal game on December 9 will be broadcasted on NBCS as well as SN.
