Bruins to Hold Toys for Tots Collection Drives Throughout December

by Staff Writer / Boston Bruins
BOSTON, MA - The Boston Bruins will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for children in need through the US Marine Corps "Toys for Tots" program during their home games throughout December. The first collection takes place on December 2 when the Bruins take on the Lightning at 7:00 p.m. Each of the collections will be held at the TD Garden entrance turnstiles beginning at 6 p.m. All Bruins fans choosing to donate will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win Bruins autographed memorabilia including a team autographed jersey, a team autographed stick, photo and puck.

In addition to collecting the toys at Bruins home games, the Boston Bruins Ice Girls will also be collecting toys at their "Skate with the Ice Girls," free open skate program throughout December. The first skate will be held at the Asiaf Arena in Brockton (702 Belmont Street, Brockton, MA 02301) on Sunday, December 12, from 2:40 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Last year, Bruins fans donated over 3,000 toys and an additional $3,000 to the Toys for Tots program. The Boston Bruins have supported Toys for Tots through various toy drives for the past 11 years and hope to make the 2010 collection the most successful to date.
