BOSTON, MA –
Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has recalled forward Guillaume Lefebvre on an emergency basis from the Providence Bruins (AHL). Lefebvre is traveling to Phoenix today and is expected to be available for tonight’s game against the Coyotes.
Invited to Boston’s training camp on a tryout agreement, Lefebvre tallied one assist and 14 penalty minutes in five games for the Bruins this preseason. On September 26, the Bruins signed Lefebvre to a one-year contract, and on Monday, September 28 he was assigned to Providence.
With the Providence Bruins this season, Lefebvre has appeared in four games with 0-1=1 totals and 25 penalty minutes.
Last year with the AHL’s Springfield Falcons Lefebvre had 4-9-13 totals with 206 penalty minutes in 70 games played. Originally drafted by Philadelphia in 2000, Lefebvre was traded to the Pittsburgh organization where he appeared in 12 NHL games with 2-4-6 totals in 2002-03. In his career, the 28-year-old Lefebvre has appeared in 38 NHL games with 2-4-6 totals and 13 penalty minutes.
