Boston, MA – Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the team has assigned defenseman Matt Lashoff to the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League).
This season, Lashoff has played in 18 games for Boston tallying one goal and four assists. He was recalled by the Bruins on March 20 and played four games registering two assists in this stint with Boston. His last game with the NHL club came on March 30, in a 2-1 overtime loss to the Sabres in Buffalo, NY.
While with Providence this season, Lashoff has played in 55 games, tallying eight goals and 27 assists. He is also a plus-10 on the season.
The 21-year-old East Greenbush, NY, native made his NHL debut on October 26, 2006 against the Montreal Canadiens and scored his first point (assist) on November 2, 2006 against the Buffalo Sabres. Lashoff was the Bruins’ first pick, 22nd overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
