BostonBruins.com - B’s all-Stars Zdeno Chara, Tyler Seguin and Tim Thomas all arrived at tonight’s SuperSkills competition in style and walked into Raleigh's RBC Center via a red carpet.
Thomas sported sunglasses after trading in his Winter parka for the blue skies and sunshine in Raleigh, NC and although all the Bruins enjoyed the Hollywood-like attention for one night, Thomas, in particular, said he wouldn’t want that kind of welcome at TD Garden every night.
“I like coming in incognito," he said with a smile. "It's easier to prepare for games that way."
Thomas, Chara and Seguin are all preparing to participate in tonight’s SuperSkills competition.
Chara will compete in the relay and will be joined by Seguin for the hardest shot contest -- a title Chara holds three SuperSkills running.
“I’m getting close to being a little bit more nervous,” said Chara, also with a smile.
Thomas, who will attempt to stop shots during the shootout portion of the competition, said his nerves are reserved for tomorrow afternoon’s tilt when he has a chance to be the winning goaltender for a third straight All-Star game.
As such, the Vezina trophy candidate has already started lobbying to get the third period slot for Team Lidstron.
“I (talked) with Marty St. Louis last night and I figured he's a good one to go to, the assistant captain, hopefully he goes to the coach,” he said.
