THE BOSTON BRUINS WEEK AHEAD

OCTOBER 28 – NOVEMBER 4

THIS WEEK’S NEWS, NOTES AND NUMBERS:
ON DECK: The Bruins have three games scheduled in the next seven days, all three of which are against Northeast Division foes. They will complete their home-and-home set with the Habs on Saturday, October 29 when they visit the Bell Centre before hosting the Ottawa Senators for the first time in the 2011-12 campaign on Tuesday, November 1. The final game of the week will take place in Toronto on Saturday, November 5 at the Air Canada Centre. All three games start at 7:00 p.m. ET, can be seen on NESN and heard on 98.5 The Sports Hub.

BRUINS TO VISIT HOCKEY HALL OF FAME ON FRIDAY: The Bruins will visit the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto on Friday afternoon, November 4 for an autograph signing (10 Front Street West, Toronto, ON M5E). While the details have yet to be confirmed, the visit is currently scheduled for 3:45 p.m. ET.

FIVE B’S DONATE 5K EACH FOR TROOPS: Johnny Boychuk, Andrew Ference, Nathan Horton, Milan Lucic and Dennis Seidenberg will each donate $5,000 so that military members and their families can attend the Bruins/Devils game on Tuesday, November 15. November 15 is “Military Appreciation Night” at the Garden and the Bruins will honor military members and their families throughout the evening through a variety of activities.

MCQUAID RETURNS: Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid returned to the Bruins lineup on Thursday against Montreal and logged 14:52 of ice time. He missed the previous four games with a head/neck injury.

MEN’S JOURNAL: Check out the latest edition of Men’s Journal magazine for a photoshoot featuring Andrew Ference, David Krejci, Gregory Campbell, and Dennis Seidenberg playing street hockey in Boston and modeling the latest fall fashions.

ATTENDANCE NOTE: Including the Bruins/Habs game on Thursday, the Bruins have now sold out their last 91 consecutive games at the TD Garden, including regular season and playoffs. This streak began on December 5, 2009 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The last game the Bruins did not have 17,565 in attendance at the Garden was on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 when they hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning (16,553).

BOSTON MEDIA TWEET OF THE WEEK: Pretty uneventful week on the Bruins media Twitter front until the Habs came to town. The Marchand/Subban soiree sparked some solid tweets, but this week’s winner came from the BruinsBlog.NHL.com’s Matt Kalman on Wednesday during the Bruins practice.

@TheBruinsBlog: “Chara with some extra ‘hop’ in his step today.”

This of course references the pink bunny Halloween costume the B’s captain wore the day before when visiting pediatric cancer patients at Children’s Hospital earlier in the week.

And here are this week’s runners up in no particular order:
@GlobeKPD (Kevin Paul Dupont, Boston Globe) after the Marchand/Subban soiree: “Subban, March again try to date. Sent off for delay of game. Linesmen won’t allow them to engage. Might have to rent hall in Southie.”

@DouglasFlynn (Doug Flynn, NESN.com) upon seeing Mark Recchi at practice on Wednesday: “Mark Recchi on hand watching Bruins practice. Must be in town to give second opinion on Max Pacioretty’s wrist tomorrow.”

@GlobeFluto (Fluto Shinzawa, Boston Globe) upon analyzing the first period stat line for Patrice Bergeron on Thursday: “Bergeron 5 FW (faceoffs won), 2 FL (faceoffs lost), 1 FP (face plant)”

@PhilStacey_SN (Phil Stacey, Salem News) also after the Marchand/Subban tilt: “First they get 2 min for holding, then 2 for delay of game. For third one, I’d give Marchand and Subban both 5 minutes for ‘strong dislike.’”
