BOSTON, MA – Behind the B presented by ALEX AND ANI and Bruins Academy, creations of the Boston Bruins and Mad Fish Productions, were awarded the Best Sports Series Emmy and Best Children/Youth Series Emmy by the Boston/New England chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at the 39th Boston/New England Emmy Awards Ceremony on Saturday, June 4. The nominated episode of Behind the B was Season Three, Episode Seven, which featured the Bruins competing in a scavenger hunt around Boston searching for landmarks such as Fenway Park, Harvard Stadium and Union Oyster House. The nominated episode of Bruins Academy was Season One, Episode One, which focused on the excitement surrounding the 2016 NHL Winter Classic. The series premiere featured Bruins players reflecting on playing outdoor hockey as kids, how the Bruins Equipment Staff was preparing the team for the big game and a “Sports Science” segment on how to build an outdoor rink.
The Bruins organization granted Behind the B cameras unprecedented access into the locker room, executive boardroom and player’s homes to provide fans a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of the 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 Boston Bruins seasons. Bruins Academy is a fast-paced, educational Black & Gold themed program created for youth who love the game of hockey.
