Boston Bruins Announce Roster Moves

BOSTON, MA–  Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that 12 players have been released from Bruins training camp.  Nine players will be assigned to the Providence Bruins (AHL) Training Camp while three will return to their Junior teams.


The nine players assigned to Providence are right wing Byron Bitz, defenseman Sean Curry, left wing Nate DiCasmirro, center Matt Hendricks, defenseman Adam McQuaid, center Pascal Pelletier, center Wacey Rabbit, goaltender Jordan Sigalet and left wing T.J. Trevelyan.

Defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk (Halifax, QMJHL), center Zach Hamill (Everett, WHL) and left wing Brad Marchand (Val-d’Or Foreurs, QMJHL) will rejoin their respective Junior teams.

Following these roster moves, the Bruins currently have 34 players remaining in camp.

The Bruins have two preseason games scheduled for this weekend.  On Saturday, September 22 the Bruins will play the Toronto Maple Leafs at 4:00 p.m. ET at the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston and on Sunday, September 23 the Bruins will travel to Halifax, Nova Scotia to play the Montreal Canadiens at 3:00 p.m. ET.
