just spoke and said that he hoped to get some update on his thumb tomorrow and that he believes he will be playing sometime this week.
Coach Julien just spoke to the media and said that Steve Begin was not his only concern for tomorrow and implied that at least one other Bruin had gotten banged up against the Kings.
However, the B's head coach did say that Patrice Bergeron
will be seeing the club's medical staff today and that there may be an update on him later today.
There are only three Bruins -- Rask, Wideman & Bergeron -- working out with Assistant Coach Houda.
I don't expect anyone else to join those three B's and hopefully we'll be in the locker room, soon.
After the game on Saturday, Bruins captain Zdeno Chara
sounded -- content (no), happy (no), let's call it -- okay, with the three points they garnered in California.
"It’s one of those games that you could probably be happy with a point, but also you could be unhappy with the point you lost," he said. "I thought that we battled really hard and we gave everything we had."
And, basically, that was how he felt about the entire trip.
"Well, again I have to go back to the game at Anaheim. We should have won, we lost. We had a good win against San Jose. Tonight was just a game that, again, we could have won. We could have had six points," he said. "I mean, for sure. We gave a really good effort every game. A lot of hard work.
"The guys went down and it obviously tough, but you know, they stepped up and played really well."
Boston goalie Tim Thomas
held similar sentiments.
"We were shorthanded, let’s be honest," he said. "The rest had to come up with the effort.
"Actually, that we did [come up with a good effort] this whole trip is positive overall. Even though the bite of not getting those two points right now might not feel good, it was a good trip.
"We very easily could have came out with six out of six points," he said.
B's head coach Claude Julien was philosophical as well.
"Our guys left it all out on the ice again tonight," said Julien. "It’s unfortunate that we weren’t able to come up with the win, but it really took a lot out of us killing those penalties in the second period.
"It made it hard for us, especially with a short bench and a depleted lineup to stay there for the whole 60 minutes."
