The first annual Thomas E. Smith Courage Cup, powered by the Boston Bruins Foundation, took place at TD Garden on September 29th, 2025. Four teams coached by Bob Sweeney, Zdeno Chara, Andrew Raycroft, and Ray Bourque took to the ice to raise money for paralysis research. The day was filled with competitive games and comradery that raised over $250,000 for paralysis research.
Each year, the wives, girlfriends, and families of the Boston Bruins players decorate small trees with their player's favorite things. These trees include signed jerseys, gift cards, Bruins ornaments, purses, colognes, and more. This year, the Festival of Trees raised $23,462 to benefit Cradles to Crayons. The 9th annual Bowl with a Bruin tournament took place on September 15th, 2024, at Wamesit Lanes in Tewksbury. Boston Bruins Alumni, sponsors, friends, and guests were able to reminisce and enjoy bowling matches. People could also participate in the raffle, silent auction, and live auctions. It was a great day of bowling and we were able to raise $100,000!
The Boston Bruins hosted the Black & Gold Gala on January 15th, 2025, at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston, benefitting the Boston Bruins Foundation. Bringing current and former Boston Bruins players and supporters of the Boston Bruins Foundation together, everyone in attendance celebrated Jeremy Jacobs, Chairman of Delaware North, for 50 years of Boston Bruins ownership. In addition to a lucrative silent auction, the Foundation also sold exclusive signed Centennial Game jerseys to help raise funds for the California fire relief efforts. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, the event raised over $1 million!
On April 21st, 2025, the Boston Bruins Foundation team hit the iconic course for the 129th Boston Marathon! This year, we had 10 runners repping the Spoked-B as they ran, and all 10 runners crossed the finish line on Boylston Street while Foundation staff cheered them on. In addition to their amazing accomplishment during that day, the team fundraised over $110,000 for the Boston Bruins Foundation!
The 45th Annual Pan Mass Challenge took place August 2-3, 2025, and was the Boston Bruins Foundation's 20th year supporting a team. This year, we rode in support of Kieran, our PMC Pedal Partner, his family, and everyone else contributing towards the fight against cancer. Thank you to our team members for their hard work, fundraising, and riding for an amazing cause where all funds raised benefit Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. : The Boston Bruins Foundation hosted the 22nd Annual Boston Bruins Golf Tournament presented by TD Bank on September 9th, 2025. Current players, coaches, alumni, sponsors, and friends came together for a great day of golf and fundraising. We were also honored to once again have Special Olympics of Massachusetts at the tournament with their athletes using their skills to hit drives and sink putts for select foursomes. Tom Smith of the Thomas E. Smith Foundation was also honored with the Trophy of the Year for his dedication and service to the spinal cord community in New England
The 5th Annual AJ's Army Golf Tournament at Kirkbrae Country Club took place on June 30th, 2025. The mission of AJ’s Army is to help provide the long term financial and emotional support to the Quetta Family, as AJ focuses on his recovery from a severe spinal cord injury sustained in 2021 while playing hockey for the Bishop Feehan High School (Attleboro, MA) varsity hockey team. All proceeds that are collected through golfing, purchasing raffle tickets, and participating in the silent and live auctions go to support AJ's recovery efforts through the Thomas E. The fourth annual TBO14 Golf Tournament at Northern Spy Golf Course took place on July 21st, 2025. In September 2021, Jake suffered a spinal cord injury in a hockey tournament that left him paralyzed from the chest down. Since then, his motto has been “No Quit!” as he works tirelessly to get stronger and live life to the fullest. Participants enjoyed a beautiful day of golfing followed by food, a raffle, and silent auction to raise funds for Jake and his spinal cord recovery. The 9th Annual BFit Challenge powered by National Grid took place on February 2nd, 2025. Marking another record year with 2,000 police, military, firefighters, EMS, and community members showing up to complete the unique course and stair climb at TD Garden, supporters raised over $1.2 million for 24 different first responder and military charities. The 9th Annual BFit Heroes Cup powered by National Grid was held at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, MA from June 6 to June 8. This tournament is a weekend-long event designed to bring firefighters, police officers, EMS, and military members across the country together to raise money for multiple charities surrounding their professions and mental health. Over 100 teams participated this year for the opportunity to win additional money for the charity of their choice, raising over $465,000. 12 teams were crowned champion in their respective divisions and an extra $1,000 was awarded to a charity of their choice along with their name being added to the Heroes Cup. This year's tournament featured an All-Star Game for top fundraisers to play against some Boston Bruins Alumni. Some alumni included Andrew Raycroft, Tuukka Rask, Bob Sweeney, and P.J. Stock. On November 20th, 2024, The Boston Bruins Foundation, David Pastrnak, and 98.5 The Sports Hub teamed up for the 5th Annual Pucks and Paddles presented by Connection at Citizens House of Blues Boston. VIP attendees enjoyed a pre-event meet & greet with members of the team, followed by a ceremonial ping pong game and tournament involving players from the active Bruins roster, Special Olympics of MA athletes, and 98.5 The Sports Hub on-air talent. Over $110,000 was raised and all proceeds benefitted the Boston Bruins Foundation and Special Olympics of MA.
