Trade Deadline Set for Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. CT

by Chris Pinkert / St. Louis Blues

As the NHL Trade Deadline approaches, General Manager Doug Armstrong told recently that the Blues would "keep our ears open" when it comes to potential trade offers.

If Armstrong is to make any deals, he will have to complete them before Monday's 2 p.m. CT deadline.

But one thing is certain: Armstrong won't make a trade just for the sake of making a trade.

"My belief is the worst trade you can make is on emotion and with a short-term outlook," Armstrong told earlier this month. "You're always looking to see if you can improve your team, but I like this group and I like the depth that we have here. But we're like two-thirds of the NHL, we work under a business framework and whatever deals we make have to fit into that plan."

Fans should visit leading into Monday's deadline for breaking news and information. Trades, if any are made, will be posted online once they become official. Fans can also follow the Blues on Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus for breaking news updates.
