by Staff Writer / St. Louis Blues

ST. LOUIS - Blues fans - get ready to bundle up and lace up the skates!

The fifth annual St. Louis Classic viewing and skating party will take place Saturday, Jan. 2, and for the first time will be held at Shaw Park Ice Rink in Clayton.

Fans will be able to watch the Blues game at Toronto that night on an enormous screen while skating on the Shaw Park Ice Rink.

Blues greats Brett Hull and Bob Plager will join Louie at the event. FOX Sports Midwest, which hosts this celebration of hockey, will broadcast its pregame, postgame and intermission shows live from the rink with Bernie Federko, Pat Parris and Jim Hayes as hosts.

Festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with a special one-hour pregame broadcast.

The event is open to the public – there’s no cost to watch, and bleacher seating and lawn chair space will be available. Shaw Park Ice Rink is selling skating passes and rentals, which can be purchased in advance. Mid-States Hockey Association will sell hot chocolate and pretzels, and food trucks will sell other food and drink.

The St. Louis Classic is presented by Gateway Honda Dealers.
