Calgary, AB. - Managing editor Aaron Vickers announced Future Consideration's performers of the week to be Chicago Blackhawks rookie Patrick Kane, Mark Santorelli of the Chilliwack Bruins and T.J. Oshie
of the University of North Dakota.
The awards, divided into NHL, CHL and NCA player of the week, honours those judged to have the most impact on his club over the course of the previous seven days.
Kane was awarded the NHL's honour after tallying five points in three games, including a four point effort against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Kane continues to lead all rookies in points and has topped FC's Calder Chase for the past two weeks - the first rookie to record consecutive honours this season.
Teammate Jonathan Toews was named runner-up, as was Daniel Carcillo of the Phoenix Coyotes and San Jose Sharks forward Devin Setoguchi.
Santorelli, a member of the WHL, was given the CHL nod for top performer while St. Louis Blues prospect T.J. Oshie
was named FC's inaugural NCAA performer of the week.
Leading all WHL players in points with 28, Santorelli recorded seven assists over the past seven days, including a five-point outing against the Prince George Cougars.
Oshie, meanwhile, recorded a hat-trick en route to eclipsing the career 100-point plateau with UND.
