ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced Monday that the club will participate in the 2009 NHL Prospects Tournament, September 6-10, in Traverse City, Michigan.
There are eight teams playing in this year’s tournament and the Blues will face-off in the three-game round robin tournament against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars and Minnesota Wild.
The Blues’ roster includes draft picks, signed players and tryout players and this year is highlighted by Alex Pietrangelo
(1st round selection, 4th overall in 2008), Philip McRae
(2nd round, 33rd overall in 2008), Jake Allen
(2nd round, 34th overall in 2008), Aaron Palushaj (2nd round, 44th overall in 2007) and Brett Sonne
(3rd round, 85th overall in 2007).
In addition, the roster includes 2009 draft selections, Brett Ponich
(2nd round, 48th overall), Tyler Shattock
(4th round, 108th overall) and David Shields
(6th round, 168th overall).The team will practice on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 11 a.m. at the IceZone at St. Louis Mills. Fans are welcome to watch the practice before the team departs for Traverse City.
