The St. Louis Blues have remained atop the ESPN Power Rankings for the second consecutive week.
It's the first time a team has held the top spot for more than one week this season.
ESPN columnist Scott Burnside writes: "When you win seven straight as the Blues have, thanks to Sunday's 2-0 win against the Rangers, you get to keep your No. 1 ranking. Jaroslav Halak
got the night off Sunday (Ty Conklin got the shutout), but is looking like the steal of the century with a .944 save percentage."
Through Sunday's games, the Blues currently sit atop the NHL standings with only 12 games played. They are off to their best start in franchise history with a 9-1-2 record.
In addition, the Blues claimed the top position with TSN and FoxSports.com.
They have landed at No. 2 in USAToday's Power Rankings.
Said TSN: "Not easy to take top spot with three blueline regulars out, but the Blues have won seven straight, giving up a total of six goals in that span. Maybe it doesn't matter who is defending as long as Jaroslav Halak
and Ty Conklin are doing the job between the pipes."View the Rankings: ESPN
