Blues Put McDonald on Injured Reserve

by Chris Pinkert / St. Louis Blues
The St. Louis Blues announced Thursday that Andy McDonald has been placed on injured reserve.

The move is retroactive to Dec. 4, where McDonald sustained a concussion after hitting a rut in the ice and crashing into the leg of Oilers forward Shawn Horcoff in overtime.

The Blues placed McDonald on the injured reserve list to create roster space for defenseman Nikita Nikitin, who was recalled from Peoria on Thursday morning.

As of Dec. 16, the Blues were playing without McDonald, T.J. Oshie (ankle), David Perron (concussion), Erik Johnson (lower body), Alex Pietrangelo (upper body) and Roman Polak (wrist laceration).
