Blues Ink Four Prospects to Pro Contracts

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has signed forwards Nicholas Drazenovic, Tomas Kana and Ryan Reaves along with defenseman Alexander Hellstrom.


Drazenovic, 20, played in 58 games this season with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League (WHL), registering 50 points (18 goals, 32 assists) along with 63 penalty minutes. The 6-1, 182-pound center was originally drafted by the Blues in the sixth round, 171st overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Kana, 20, appeared in 44 games this season with Vitkovice of the Czech Republic League, recording 16 points (nine goals, seven assists) and 54 penalty minutes. The 6-0, 202-pound center was originally drafted by the Blues in the second round, 31st overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Reaves, 20, skated in 69 games with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL this season, posting 35 points (15 goals, 20 assists) and 76 penalty minutes. The 6-2, 215-pound right winger was originally drafted by the Blues in the fifth round, 156th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Hellstrom, 20, played in 39 games with Bjorkloven in Sweden this season, registering five assists and tied for first on the club with 104 penalty minutes. The 6-3, 214-pound defenseman was originally drafted by the Blues in the seventh round, 184th overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
