Blues players Barret Jackman
, Jay McClement, Tyson Strachan, Ty Conklin and their significant others spent Monday evening hosting a "Big For a Day" Holiday Party at Scottrade Center.
The players, along with members of the Blues office staff, welcomed 30 children to enjoy on-ice and off-ice activities Monday, including skating, egg pass, shot-on-goal and crafts.
Children were also treated to dinner.
The children are currently on the waiting list for a mentor at Big Brothers Big Sisters, an organization designed to improve the lives of children through mentoring.
Events like Monday's Holiday Party are held to remind children that they haven't been forgotten by Big Brothers Big Sisters.
The organization works with children ages 5-17 in communities all across America.
According to their Website, children involved in the mentoring program are 46 percent less likely to use illegal drugs, 27 percent less likely to begin using alcohol and 52 percent less likely to skip school.
