Ryan Johansen knows hockey, and the hockey world knows him.
The Vancouver native has been on a steady climb since a breakout 2013-14 season with the Blue Jackets.
During the 2014-15 season, he scored 26 goals and notched 45 assists for a total of 71 points in 82 total games played with the Blue Jackets -- despite missing all of training camp and the preseason. In terms of league rankings, those numbers were good enough for 15th in assists and 16th overall in total points.
Among the 23-year-old's highlights during the season: a nine-straight points streak that coincided with one of the team's best stretches. He was also named the 2015 NHL All-Star Game MVP with two goals and four points on Jan. 25 at Nationwide Arena.
Johansen has been a consistent force over the last few years. He scored 33 goals and tallied 30 assists for a total of 63 points in 82 games during the 2013-14 regular season. In the playoffs, Johansen proved himself further with two goals and four assists in six games.
