NOV. 15 – Wild 4, at BLUE JACKETS 2: Columbus outshot Minnesota 45 to 24 but Cal Clutterbuck’s goal at 7:38 of the third period broke a 2-2 tie and Devin Setoguchi’s empty net tally sealed the comeback win for the visitors. The Blue Jackets jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a shorthanded goal by Antoine Vermette and a power play tally by Mark Letestu in the game’s first 10:42 but the Jackets were stymied by Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom, who stopped 43-of-45 shots to earn the win…
NOV. 17 – at Bruins 2, BLUE JACKETS 1 (SO): David Krejci’s shootout game-winner lifted the defending Stanley Cup champions to the 2-1 SO win as the Jackets earned their first road point of the season thanks to a 26-save performance by goaltender Curtis Sanford. Columbus took a 1-0 lead at 2:49 of the second on a Derek MacKenzie power play goal before Boston tied the game just 1:35 later on a goal by Adam McQuaid. Tuuka Rask made 30 saves for the Bruins who converted 2-of-3 in the shootout to the Jackets’ 1-of-3…
NOV. 19 – BLUE JACKETS 4, at Predators 3 (OT): James Wisniewski’s first goal as a Blue Jacket 2:43 into overtime lifted Columbus to its first win at Nashville since Apr. 3, 2006 and its first road win of the season. Columbus battled back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to take a 3-2 lead on goals by Jeff Carter, Vinny Prospal and R.J. Umberger before the Predators tied the game at 14:24 of the third on a Nick Spaling goal. Curtis Sanford made 27 saves to outduel Pekka Rinne (25 saves) and earn the win in net.

Columbus is 2-1-1 in its past four games and has earned points in back-to-back games for the first time this season after a 2-1 SOL at Boston on Nov. 17 and a 4-3 OT win at Nashville on Nov. 19… The win over the Predators snapped a 17-game drought in Nashville (0-12-5) since Apr. 3, 2006…

The Blue Jackets have converted 12-of-65 on the power play (18.5 pct.) over their last 15 games, including 4-of-11 (36.4 pct.) in the past three, to raise their season total to 12-of-85 (14.1 pct.)… The club ranks 11th in the NHL in penalty killing at home (85.3 pct.)... Since allowing 19 goals in three games from Nov. 3-10, the Jackets have allowed 10 in the past four, including one empty goal.

PROSPAL CLOSING IN ON 1,000TH NHL GAME: LW Vinny Prospal is three games shy of No. 1,000 in his NHL career and could reach the milestone on Friday when the Blue Jackets host the Buffalo Sabres. Columbus’ leader in goals and points this season with 6-9-15 in 19 outings, Prospal has registered 233-462-695 and 523 penalty minutes in 997 games with Columbus, NY Rangers, Tampa Bay, Philadelphia, Anaheim, Florida and Ottawa since making his debut with the Flyers on Mar. 5, 1997 vs. New Jersey.

ENTER SANDMAN: G Curtis Sanford made his first NHL start since Jan. 13, 2009 (with Vancouver at New Jersey) on Nov. 17 at Boston and stopped 26-of-27 shots in a 2-1 SOL. He then made 27 saves in a 4-3 OT win at Nashville to record his first win since Dec. 28, 2008 when he made 18 saves in a 3-0 win over Ottawa with the Canucks. Sanford, who missed 12 games due to injury between Oct. 18-Nov. 15, is 1-0-1 with a 1.64 goals-against average and .933 save percentage in three games this season.

VERMETTE HITS 200 AND 300, RESPECTIVELY: C Antoine Vermette played in his 200th-straight game as a Blue Jacket and assisted on James Wisniewski’s overtime goal to record the 300th point of his NHL career at Nashville on Nov. 19. Vermette, who scored his first goal of the season vs. Minnesota on Nov. 15, has 134-166-300 in 559 career games. His games played streak is the third-longest in club history – R.J. Umberger (265, Oct. 10, 2008-current) and Jason Chimera (243, Oct. 9, 2005 to Apr. 5, 2008).

D James Wisniewski scored his first goal as a Blue Jacket with the OT game-winner at Nashville on Nov. 19. He added an assist vs. the Predators for his second multi-point game and has 1-6-7 in 11 games… C Jeff Carter collected his first goal as a Jacket at Nashville on Nov. 19… LW R.J. Umberger scored his 76th goal as a Blue Jacket at Nashville on Nov. 19 and is now tied with Nikolai Zherdev for fourth on the club’s all-time goals list (Geoff Sanderson is third with 88)… D Grant Clitsome has collected 3-2-5 in his last six games… RW Rick Nash tallied 0-2-2 at Nashville for his first multi-point game since Oct. 12 vs. Colorado (1-1-2).

The Blue Jackets and WBNS 10-TV are partnering again in support of the fifth annual “Jackets for Jackets” coat drive to help keep central Ohio families warm this winter.
