Tunnel of pride is an "exciting" benefit for STHs

by Kristyn Repke / Columbus Blue Jackets

Being a Blue Jackets Season Ticket Holder means more than just great seats and big savings for NHL hockey games at Nationwide Arena. Season Ticket Holders are offered a variety of exclusive perks, privileges and special opportunities to be fully immersed in the Blue Jackets year-round. One of those unique in-season benefits is the opportunity for full season ticket holders and half season partial plan holders to be a part of a Tunnel of Pride event.

Several times each year, Blue Jackets plan holders are offered the chance to cheer on the team before they take the ice to start the game. Plan holders get a behind-the-scenes look at the excitement of the event level before the game and are encouraged to make some noise and fist bump the team as they head out from the locker room.

Melissa Thompson, whose family has had season tickets since the Blue Jackets’ inception, recently enjoyed a Tunnel of Pride experience with her family for the first time.

“Seeing the players come out was exciting," said Thompson. "They were so close to where we were standing and that was really cool.”

Although her daughter's favorite player, Jared Boll, was not participating in that night's game, she was happy to cheer on the team before they hit the ice for puck drop.

Greg Boyd also enjoyed the anticipation and was actually able to see his favorite player, Nikita Nikitin, up close.

“There’s so much excitement with this, leading up to the start of the game," said Boyd. "It was cool to see the players up close and in game mode. It's a thrilling experience.”
