The Blue Jackets conclude their five game road trip here in St. Louis tonight against the Blues. Both teams will be attempting to end four game losing streaks and I expect a spirited affair tonight.
Blue Jackets head coach Scott Arniel in looking ahead to tonight's game said, the teams match up well and don't like each other."
Last time in St. Louis, the Blue Jackets won 5-2 and Arniel in looking back at that game offered, "we were better, won puck battles and we need the same tonight." He talked about the Blues' pride and the fact that for the most part the Blue Jackets play well in this building and his teams need to play a game similar to the one they played here back in late January.
The goalie match-up will see Steve Mason oppose Ty Conklin of the Blues.
Kyle Wilson, recalled from Springfield, will play and I expect we will also see Craig Rivet play tonight. Rivet scored a goal in his Jackets debut Friday in Calgary and will certainly add a physical presence in front of Mason against St. Louis power forwards David Backes and the newly acquired Chis Stewart.
Please note the start time of tonight's game, due to Versus exclusive window, will be pushed back an hour and will begin at 9 p.m. Columbus time. If you're so inclined to join us at our CBJ viewing party at Roosters on Henderson Road. The game is in HD and coverage begins at 8:30 p.m. with Blue Jackets Live.
