Here we go... in the words of Blue Jackets Head Coach Ken Hitchcock... "the defining moment is here!"
Eight straight games within the Central Division starting tonight against the St. Louis Blues at Nationwide. This is "THE" most important stretch for the CBJ. Hitch hopes when they are finished, two weeks from today... the Jackets are right where they are now!!
Pascal Leclaire gets the start tonight against the Blues. Pascal shut them out in the teams first meeting back on October 25th... with Rookie Jared Boll scoring the game-winning goal.
The Blues are not in the greatest frame of mind... having lost 3-2 to Chicago last night back in St. Louis. And it's the way they lost... two short-handed goals by Patrick Sharp including the game-winning goal.
Talking to Blues coach Andy Murray this morning... the personable coach told me he thinks the 'Hawks (the CBJ's next opponent) are for real!! Making my initial thoughts on today's blog even more to the point... these are all four-point games!!
Hannu Toivonen is expected to get the start for St.Louis.
On the injury front Fredrik Modin is still very sore and likely out until next weekend at the earliest!!
Enjoy tonight's game... it's a 5 p.m. start!
