EDITOR'S NOTE: You've arrived at the CBJ Power Rankings, our weekly breakdown of the top-five players, statistics, trends and many other Blue Jackets-related categories. If you're looking for the traditional power rankings, you've come to the wrong place. We'll go in-depth and outside the box, and hopefully give you something to think about.
For this week's iteration of the Power Rankings pres. by YP, we're going streaking! Point streaking, that is. We'll take a look at the players who have made goals and assists into a nightly habit, examining the top five active streaks in the league. Spoiler alert: Blue Jackets fans are going to be pretty stoked about the top two entries. Let's dive right in.
Andrew Ladd: 5 games, 7 points*
*Entering Sunday's games
Winnipeg is right in the thick of the playoff race, and it's been a total team effort. Dustin Byfuglien's play has been impressive of late, after injuries to several Jets defensemen forced the big guy back to the blue line. But it's been captain Andrew Ladd driving the offense, throwing together a nice five-game point streak. Three of his seven points during the streak have been goals.
Seeing as this list only has room for five, we had to exclude another five-game point streak, so here's an honorable mention for San Jose Sharks rookie Melker Karlsson. The 24-year-old Swede owns the only five-game goal streak in the league. That's right - five games, five points, all goals.
