Post-Game Quotes

Blue Jackets Head Coach Scott Arniel
Commenting on tonight's game…

"The biggest thing, obviously, was playing last night and traveling back. (Ottawa) got in here and were waiting for us. We were a tired bunch. You could see in the third period when guys start coming back to the bench after 20 seconds, I knew we were in for a long third period. Fatigue was a big factor for us… it was throughout our whole lineup. We found a way (to win). We hung around and did what we had to do. Jake (Jakub Voracek) found an opportunity and persevered."

Commenting on the play of goaltender Steve Mason and forward Jake Voracek…
"It's about a process. It isn't about just one game and being satisfied. Gradually you see (Steve Mason's) confidence again and that is the first step to him being a good goalie. He's done a good job in the last three games. With Jake, I am going to tell him the same thing I told Mase and others that I've pulled out. He played a great game coming back and now he's got to do it again in Nashville and Phoenix, and it’s about what happens in the remaining 40 games of the year. All that is part of maturity and growth you look for in players."

Blue Jackets Left Wing Rick Nash

Commenting on tonight's game…

"We were playing the second night of back to back games. They are sitting here waiting for us. They had fresh legs and I think you could see we lost a bit of our legs in the third. I think it was more of them turning it up, too. I think it was more them then us but we are happy with the win and the two points."

Blue Jackets Right Wing Jakub Voracek

Commenting on tonight's game…

"I was just happy we got the win. We had two wins in a row when I was a healthy scratch. I was a little scared if I was going to be back in the lineup. It is something that happened. We got two points a huge two points for us and we have another big game coming up in two days in Nashville."

Ottawa Senators Head Coach Cory Clouston

Commenting on tonight's game…

"We worked hard. We showed a lot of character two quarters of the way through the second period we had seven or eight shots on net. We worked hard against a good team that skated well. We showed a lot of character, happy with the point, disappointed with the loss. They made mistakes. We made mistakes. They capitalized on ours. Those things happen and we have to be better. I am not going to question our character tonight; we worked hard and did a lot of good things. It was a tough way to lose. We had two or three real good chances in overtime just before they scored. That’s a tough goal to give up."
